| A good selection of 124 pics - pity there are no interior views (though there are some on the Railcar Association site at www.railcar.co.uk). Have you got any pics of their sister units, the ex-Western Region 123s? If so, it would be great to see them too.
I can just about remember the 123s/124s, though I was only a child when they were around (I was nine in 1984 when they finished). I often travelled on them between Manchester and Sheffield. I remember my last trip on one, in early 1984 shortly before they finished. We were held at a signal for a long time in Totley tunnel (or it might have been Cowburn tunnel), apparently behind a failed unit (another 123/124?). Detonators were heard exploding when we finally got going again. |

Nice pic, however not 47485 which was never named.....
The silver roof and domino should make it easy to find on class47.co.uk or other fotopic sites.
Send me a full size scan if you wish and I can narrow it down further by the eyebrow and marker lights.
